The Getty Museum wanted to create a tribute to Jimi Hendrix for an upcoming exhibit.
I enjoyed looking through their extensive archive of footage and photographs to craft a set of design boards that would represent the indelible career of Jimi Hendrix. I wanted to create something that felt like a scrap book that someone who had been close to Jimi would have made for him to celebrate his life, and introduce content that mass media hadn’t regularly seen. The photos were so powerful, I really wanted them to speak for themselves with dashes of memoriablia from the era.
